About the test

Find the missing piece.

Each puzzle is a grid or a row of figures with one piece missing. Something changes across it, like shape, colour, position, count or rotation. Work out the rule and pick the choice that completes it.

How it’s scored
Each right answer is one point, out of 26. Like the clinical version, the test ends after 3 misses in a row. Your points are compared with typical scores for your age, then placed on the IQ scale (average 100, standard deviation 15).
What the number means
Matrix reasoning is a strong marker of fluid intelligence: solving new problems without relying on what you already know. One subtest gives a useful estimate, not a full-scale IQ, so the result comes with a 90% range.
