About the test

Build the shape.

Each puzzle shows a shape and six pieces. Exactly three of them fit together to make the shape, without overlapping and with no gaps. Pieces may be turned, but never flipped over.

How it’s scored
A puzzle earns a point when all three pieces are right, out of 26. You have 20 seconds for the first seven puzzles and 30 for the rest. Like the clinical version, the test ends after 3 misses in a row. Your points are compared with typical scores for your age, then placed on the IQ scale (average 100, standard deviation 15).
What the number means
Visual puzzles measure how well you analyse and build shapes in your head, a key part of visual-spatial reasoning. One subtest gives a useful estimate, not a full-scale IQ, so the result comes with a 90% range.
